The Campaign
“With R for…” is the awareness campaign that focuses on the waste and cleaning services of Madrid City Council.
Madrid City Council, via its General Department for Cleaning and Waste Services belonging to the Environment and Mobility Department, has launched various activities aimed at providing information and raising awareness of the need for proper waste separation and keeping the city clean to achieve the waste and recycling targets set by European law, and to promote a circular economy that takes care of the city.
Caring for Madrid is simple if we all participate, so we invite you to Reflect on this and apply the following R's:
TAKING CARE OF MADRID AND MOVING TOWARDS A CIRCULAR ECONOMY IS SIMPLE WHEN WE ALL PARTICIPATE.
Raising awareness and motivating everyone who lives, works or visits Madrid is key to successful waste separation and to keeping the city's public spaces clean. That is why, during this campaign, different activities will be carried out to target different audiences and obtain their cooperation:
THE CITIZENS
The campaign's team of environmental educators will perform travelling information activities to help citizens adopt responsible habits with regard to waste and to keeping the city clean: by correctly separating waste at home, not abandoning waste, picking up dog excrement, using ashtrays and litter bins and respecting street furniture, etc.
In addition, the campaign’s information booths will be set up at various points around the city to reinforce these behaviours, provide detailed information about the services the city council offers the public and to distribute informative or promotional materials.
BUSINESSES
To emphasise commercial waste separation and the cleanliness of commercial public spaces, the campaign's educational team will make door-to-door visits to commercial, hotel and other establishments. During these visits, they will provide data, informative materials to act as a reminder and answer any questions the managers and/or workers of these establishments may have.
SCHOOLS
We’re continuing to work with schools!
In this new campaign we are launching a new educational program with classroom activities adapted to each educational level (2nd cycle of kindergarten, 1st and 2nd cycle of primary education and 2nd cycle of ESO) which includes all the activities we developed over previous years on separating organic waste and several new activities focused on the 7 R's, the correct separation of waste and the maintenance of a clean city. We will soon start accepting enrolments for the 2023-2024 course, so if you need any more information you can write us to comunica.limpiezaresiduosadrid.es
